Peter O'Neill Crowley
There is not alot on the internet about Peter O'Neill Crowley. The following is a basic list of who he was and what he did.
- Leader of hundred man Fenian brigade from Ballymacoda, near Youghal, East Cork.
- In March 1867 attacked Knocknadoon Coastguard Station, siezed weapons, no bloodshed. This was one of a small number of successes in the Fenian rising.
- Peter O'Neill Crowley killed a few weeks later near Kilcooney by British soldiers.
- Very large funeral
- Statue of Peter O'Neill Crowley in Cork City to commemorate him.
